Tsawwassen is a suburban community on a peninsula in southwest Delta, known for its sunny, low-precipitation climate and its role as a major ferry gateway. It contains several distinct residential neighbourhoods and extensive waterfront parkland.

Location & boundaries

On a peninsula in southwest Delta between the Strait of Georgia to the west and Boundary Bay to the east, with the Canada–U.S. border at its southern edge and Ladner to the north.

History

The Tsawwassen First Nation, a Coast Salish people, have lived in the area for thousands of years; European suburban growth accelerated after the George Massey Tunnel opened in 1959.
