Lower Mission is a popular family-oriented area in the historic Okanagan Mission district, running along the flatter land near Okanagan Lake. It combines residential streets with beaches, large recreation facilities and a secondary shopping centre.

Location & boundaries

South of the Pandosy area along the lakeshore, north of Upper Mission, with K.L.O. Road roughly marking the northern edge of the broader Mission district.

History

Part of the Okanagan Mission, the first area of European settlement in the Kelowna region, established after Father Pandosy founded a mission here in 1859.
