Neighbourhood guide

Living in Bridal Falls

Bridal Falls is a small highway-services and outdoor-recreation community at the eastern edge of Chilliwack, best known for the waterfall in Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park. It functions more as a tourism and travel stop than a dense residential neighbourhood.

Location & boundaries

It sits in the Fraser Valley east of Rosedale, immediately beside the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) on-ramps for the Agassiz-Rosedale Bridge (Highway 9), below Mount Cheam.

History

The land has been Stó:lo territory for thousands of years, and the falls were named in the 19th century. The nearby village of Popkum once tapped the falls for hydroelectricity to serve a chalet and heated pool.

Lifestyle

The area is oriented around passing travellers and outdoor visitors, with truck stops, restaurants, campgrounds and RV parks rather than a large year-round population.

Parks & recreation

Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park protects the waterfall and a short forest trail to its base, and the surrounding area has campgrounds and hiking within reach of Mount Cheam.

Getting around

Access is car-based via the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1); Highway 9 crosses the Agassiz-Rosedale Bridge here toward Agassiz and Harrison.

Attractions & landmarks

Bridal Veil Falls is the main landmark, with several roadside recreation attractions clustered along the highway nearby.

Who it may suit

May suit those wanting rural or recreation-oriented property with quick highway access and provincial parkland close by.
