Neighbourhood guide

Living in Garrison Crossing

Garrison Crossing is a master-planned, walkable neighbourhood built on the former CFB Chilliwack lands using new-urbanism principles. It blends refurbished military housing with new townhouses and condominiums.

It sits on the north side of the Vedder River at Vedder Crossing, within the Sardis area on the city's south side.

History

Military Camp Chilliwack was established here in 1942, and CFB Chilliwack operated until its 1998 closure; Canada Lands Company acquired the roughly 61-hectare site in 2001 and redeveloped it into about 1,700 homes, preserving historic Permanent Married Quarters and creating a Legacy Walk in 2006.

The neighbourhood is family-oriented and pedestrian-friendly, with tree-lined streets, greens and a strong community feel.

Housing & property types
