Neighbourhood guide

Living in Central Park

Central Park is a compact, densifying pocket of South Burnaby on the western edge of Metrotown, taking its name from the large adjacent park. A wave of high-rise condominium completions has reshaped the area in recent years.

Location & boundaries

It forms a roughly triangular area bounded by Kingsway, Willingdon Avenue and Patterson Avenue, on the Vancouver-Burnaby border just west of Metropolis at Metrotown.

Housing & property types

The area is increasingly high-rise, with new condominium towers rising near Kingsway and Patterson alongside older housing stock.

Parks & recreation

Central Park, a roughly 90-hectare park established in the 1890s, offers forested trails, duck ponds, tennis courts, a pitch-and-putt golf course, an outdoor pool and Swangard Stadium.

Getting around

Patterson Station on the Expo Line sits at the park's northeast corner, and the very busy Metrotown Station is a short distance east along Central Boulevard.

Attractions & landmarks

Central Park and Swangard Stadium are the neighbourhood's landmarks.

Who it may suit

May suit condo buyers wanting parkside living with rapid transit at the door.
