History

Laid out by Thomas Haney in 1882, Port Haney served as the CPR station and steamboat landing and supported brickmaking from local clay; after the commercial centre moved uphill in the 1930s it became residential and industrial, and it is now a heritage conservation district with relocated heritage buildings.
