Neighbourhood guide

Living in Blueridge

Blueridge is a quiet, almost entirely single-family residential area on the lower southwest slopes of Mount Seymour in the eastern District of North Vancouver. It is valued for its treed streets, sense of space and outdoor-oriented lifestyle.

Location & boundaries

It sits east of the Seymour River, below Mount Seymour and generally north of Mount Seymour Parkway, between the broader Seymour area and Deep Cove.

History

Largely forested until the 1960s, Blueridge was developed as a residential subdivision following the completion of the Second Narrows (Ironworkers Memorial) Bridge, which opened up the eastern District of North Vancouver to commuters.

Lifestyle

The neighbourhood is family-oriented and sees low turnover, with residents drawn by proximity to Mount Seymour's hiking and mountain-biking trails and a strong community feel.

Housing & property types

Housing is dominated by detached homes on generous lots, a mix of original mid-century houses and newer renovations and custom rebuilds.

Parks & recreation

Blueridge borders the trail networks of Mount Seymour and the Seymour River corridor and is close to the Baden-Powell Trail; nearby Inter River Park adds sports fields and an off-leash dog area.

Schools

The area is served by the North Vancouver School District (SD44), including Blueridge Elementary, with Seycove Secondary in nearby Deep Cove.

Getting around

Access is chiefly by road via Mount Seymour Parkway toward the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge and Highway 1; bus service connects to Phibbs Exchange, a hub for routes into Vancouver and Burnaby.

Who it may suit

May suit families and outdoor enthusiasts wanting a detached home close to Mount Seymour trails.
