Norgate is a modest post-war residential neighbourhood in the southwest District of North Vancouver, notable for its mid-century ranchers and its position between two major malls.

Location & boundaries

It sits near the Capilano River and Marine Drive in the southwest District of North Vancouver, close to the West Vancouver boundary.

History

Built between roughly 1949 and 1952, the site had earlier been floated as the Capilano Air Park, a plan that was never realized; the area lies within the traditional territory of the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam peoples.
