Ocean Park is the westernmost neighbourhood of South Surrey on the Semiahmoo Peninsula, a leafy, established residential community with a small village centre.
On the western tip of the peninsula overlooking Boundary Bay and Semiahmoo Bay, between White Rock to the east and Crescent Beach to the north, roughly from Crescent Road at 128 Street south toward 20 Avenue.
The area was part of Semiahmoo (Straits Salish) territory, named "Kwomais," meaning place of vision, for its high bluffs; in the early 1900s the Methodist church established vacation grounds and named the area Ocean Park, holding its first summer camp in 1910.
A small business and shopping district sits around the Ocean Park village at 128 Street.
Waterfront and green spaces include 1001 Steps Park, the Ocean Park shoreline walk and the former Camp Kwomais, now public parkland.
Served by School District 36 (Surrey Schools); local elementary schools include Crescent Park, Ocean Cliff, Ray Shepherd and Laronde.
Served by TransLink bus routes 350 and 352.
The Ocean Park Community Hall and a Surrey Libraries branch serve residents.
May suit families wanting an established seaside residential area.
