South Surrey is a large, mostly suburban region covering the northern Semiahmoo Peninsula, made up of several distinct neighbourhoods and centred commercially on the Semiahmoo Town Centre.

Location & boundaries

In the southwest of Surrey, wrapping around the separate City of White Rock and bordered by Semiahmoo Bay and Boundary Bay.

History

The area is the traditional territory of the Semiahmoo (Coast Salish) people; European settlement grew from the 1850s to 1890s and accelerated after the Great Northern Railway was routed along the Semiahmoo Bay shoreline in 1909.

Predominantly detached homes, with growing townhome and condominium development in Grandview Heights and around the Semiahmoo Town Centre.

Shopping & dining
