Killarney (Killarney/Glengarry) is an inner-city southwest community along the 17th Avenue SW corridor, mixing older bungalows with newer infill.

Location & boundaries

It sits in southwest Calgary, bounded by 17th Avenue SW to the north, 37th Street SW to the west, Richmond Road SW to the south and around 26th Street SW to the east.

History

The subdivision was registered in 1906 and annexed by Calgary in 1910, and was named after Glengarry County, Ontario, where its first settlers originated. Much of the housing is post-war, with infill redevelopment since the early 2000s.

It is a walkable, transit-served inner-city area popular with families and professionals.
