West Springs is a newer community on Calgary's western edge with large single-family homes and quick access to the mountains. It is an established-feeling, family-oriented suburb.

Location & boundaries

It sits on the western edge of the southwest, bounded by 69th Street SW to the east, Bow Trail to the south and Old Banff Coach Road to the north, next to Cougar Ridge and the Springbank rural area, with the area west of 85th Street known as Wentworth.

History

Formerly part of East Springbank, the land was annexed to Calgary in 1995 and West Springs was established in 2001.

Lifestyle

It is a family-oriented suburb near Canada Olympic Park with fast highway access west to the Rockies.
